The Wedding A to Z (Penguin Random House)
Karima El-Hakkaoui is an ex certified personal trainer who is now, (with over 20+ years in the beauty industry working for Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Clinique, Space NK, Hugo Boss and many more), a clean beauty expert.
She is also the founder of Six Gldn Skincare. Six Gldn reveals healthy, radiant, younger looking skin for all. https://www.sixgldn.com/
After being in the beauty industry for 20 years she saw that even though the market is saturated with products, 90% of people struggle to find the right products that work consistently for them and 80% of people still wish their skin looked healthier. This is because skincare formulas, for the most part, are static, but your skin's needs are not. Your skin’s needs change depending on the weather, sleep, pollution, food you eat etc.
She set out to change the face of skincare. To create a Doctor formulated system of products with the genius to auto adapt to ALL skin types. That means it works for everyone at every age. Formulated by a Doctor of Korean Herbal Medicine, Six Gldn exceeds the EU clean standards and have banned over 2,500 ingredients. Certified Peta, Leaping Bunny, 1% for the Planet and Plastic negative this brand is a champion for the health of humans and our planet.
And on a personal note, after a 4 year battle with cancer, Karima’s husband just passed away in October. She and her husband did home hospice and Karima cared for him daily and I was there for his last breath. And like that, life ends.
Karima’s big takeaway's are:
-Life is so beautiful even when it's hard. Possibly the most beautiful when it's the most challenging.
- We have is this one body to last us our entire lives...we need to holistically care for it so we stay as healthy as possible and not rely on the healthcare system for a quick fix to unhealthy living.
-True health is holistic. Balance in mind, body and spirit (however we each see our spiritual lives) How do we nourish these every day?
-In the darkest of times, when we have no control over external circumstances, we DO have control over how we react to them. How can we reframe the situation to feel blessed, grateful, find growth and even joy.
